Licence Terms
Last updated: 14 October 2026.
These licence terms apply to every resource you buy or download from The Training Manuals (“we”, “us”, “our”). They form part of our Terms and Conditions. By buying, downloading or using a resource you agree to them.
1. What you are buying
You are buying a licence to use a resource, not ownership of it. We own the copyright and all other intellectual property in every resource, including in the edited versions you create from it. Your licence starts when your download becomes available and continues for as long as you comply with these terms.
2. What every licence allows
- Open and edit the resource in Word (or the supplied format) and adapt it to your own courses, learners and house style.
- Replace our generic wording with your own branding: your logo, business name, colours and contact details.
- Print the resource and issue printed or digital copies to learners enrolled on your own courses, including paying learners.
- Keep your files for as long as you trade; learners may keep the copies you issue to them.
3. What no licence allows
- Selling, licensing, lending or giving away the resource itself, or any edited version of it, as a product: no reselling manuals, templates or “editable packs” built from our files.
- Uploading the resource to any public site, shared drive, marketplace, file-sharing service or online community.
- Sharing your files with other businesses, including sister companies, franchisees or colleagues outside the licensed organisation.
- Using the resource to create a competing product or library.
- Claiming that a resource, or a course you deliver with it, is accredited, regulated or endorsed by us or by anyone else, unless you hold that accreditation yourself.
- Removing or obscuring any notice we ask you to keep in the footer of the file as supplied.
4. Licence tiers
Every product page shows which tiers are available for that resource. The tiers are:
| Tier | Who may use the resource | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | One named individual trainer or tutor. | Use within that individual’s own training activity, with their own learners, including paying learners. |
| Academy | One organisation at one site or branch, and the tutors it employs or contracts there. | Use across that site’s courses, with its learners, including paying learners. |
| Commercial | One organisation, unlimited users, every site and branch. | Everything in Academy, plus the right to build the resource into your own e-learning, workbooks, online courses and client-facing material, delivered under your brand. |
No tier permits the activities in section 3. Building a resource into e-learning under a Commercial licence means delivering it to your own enrolled learners or clients; it does not mean selling the files or the content as a standalone product.
5. Upgrades
You can upgrade from Personal to Academy, or Academy to Commercial, at any time by paying the difference between the tiers at the current price. Email us at hello@thetrainingmanuals.co.uk with your order number and we will arrange it. Buying the wrong tier is handled as an upgrade, not a refund.
6. Your responsibilities
Our resources are teaching materials, not authorisation to practise. Buying a manual does not qualify, license or insure you to deliver a treatment, service or course. You are responsible for:
- holding the training, qualifications, registration, licences and insurance that your activity requires;
- checking the rules that apply where you operate: regulation differs between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and local authority requirements differ again;
- adapting policy and procedure templates to your own business and having them checked before you rely on them;
- everything you deliver under your own brand using our materials.
7. If the licence is broken
If a resource is used outside its licence we may end the licence, require deletion of the files, and recover our losses. We actively monitor marketplaces and file-sharing sites for our content.
