Refunds and Cancellation
Last updated: 14 October 2026.
1. The short version
Our products are digital downloads. Once your download is available, your purchase is non-refundable. The exception, which the law does not allow us to exclude and which we would not want to, is a file that is faulty or not as described: we will put that right.
2. Your 14 day cancellation right, and how it is waived
If you buy as a consumer, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to cancel most online purchases. For digital content, that right ends once supply begins, provided you have expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged losing the right to cancel. Our checkout asks for exactly that agreement before you can pay. Because every purchase is supplied immediately, the 14 day right does not apply once your download is available.
If you buy for a business, trade or profession, the 14 day consumer cancellation right does not apply to you at all.
3. Faulty or misdescribed files
If a file is corrupted, incomplete, materially different from its product description, or will not open in the stated format, email us. We will first send a corrected file. If we cannot put it right within a reasonable time, we will refund you in full. For consumers, this reflects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires digital content to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing on this page reduces those rights.
4. When we will not refund
A download cannot be returned, so we do not refund where:
- you have changed your mind;
- you bought the wrong tier: we will upgrade you and charge only the difference;
- you bought a resource that overlaps with one you already own: every resource’s contents are described on its page so you can check before you buy;
- the resource does not suit your teaching style, course length or delivery method;
- you have already edited, printed or issued the resource to learners.
5. Bundles
A bundle is a single purchase at a single price. If one resource in a bundle is faulty we will replace that resource. We do not refund part of a bundle.
6. Free resources
Free resources are supplied as they are, with no refund or replacement obligation, though we will always try to fix a broken file if you tell us about it.
7. How to contact us about an order
Email hello@thetrainingmanuals.co.uk within 30 days of purchase with your order number and, for a faulty file, a description of the problem. We reply within two working days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 14 days of approval; how quickly the money reaches you depends on your bank or card provider.
